Why I chose this bag.
Most weekend bags are black nylon that looks like every other bag on the carousel. I wanted one that makes you feel like you're leaving before you've even backed out of the driveway.
Each weekender is sewn by hand from start to finish. The shell is hand-quilted over batting, so it holds its shape packed full. The appliqués are cut by hand and sewn on piece by piece, with hand-embroidered details: on the Flower Power Caravan, a camper bus with a peace sign on its nose, turquoise spiral wheels and flowers all down its side.
That handwork is something you can feel in the quilting and see in the scenes. It's still a practical bag, carry-on sized with a wide-opening zip and padded handles. It just doesn't look like anyone else's.

Every bag is sewn by hand from start to finish, so color tones, stitching and appliqué placement vary slightly from bag to bag and from the photos. That's the nature of real handwork. Spot clean only and let it air dry; skip the washing machine to keep the colors and quilting at their best.
